Cassandra E. Papak, DPM Podiatrist

Dr. Cassandra Papak grew up in Rensselaer, Indiana. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 2007, where she earned a BA in Anthropology and was a member of the Honors College. While at Notre Dame, she volunteered at the Sister Maura Brannick Health Center in South Bend and became interested in a career in podiatry.

Dr. Papak earned her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine in 2011 from the Scholl College in Chicago. She completed residency training at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka in June 2014. Dr. Papak has staff privileges at St. Joseph Health System Mishawaka Medical Center and Memorial Hospital of South Bend. She is board certified (American Board of Podiatric Medicine).

Donald D. McGowan, DPM Podiatrist

Retired, December 2016

Dr. Donald McGowan grew up in Oak Park, Illinois. He received his undergraduate education at Loyola University in Chicago and the University of Wisconsin. He earned his doctoral degree at the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated cum laude. He practiced in Illinois until 1989, when he moved to South Bend to begin practicing with Dr. E.E. Swigart.

In 1991 Dr. McGowan founded the Foot & Ankle Clinic of Michiana. In 1999 the office was moved to its current location. Dr. McGowan served as the podiatric residency director at the Michiana Community Hospital in South Bend from 1991-1994, and also served on the American Board of Ambulatory Foot Surgery for many years.
